INTRODUCTION   Noctura is a man of theatrics; dramatic dialogue and performative conduct are his lifeblood. An unusual character whose madness is thinly veiled by grandiosity and silver tongue. Unpredictable, clever, and cruelly creative; every word drips with sickly sweet honey, and every action is calculated. His madness is not loud but deliberate - a showman who delights in turning the world into his stage.

STAGE PRESENCE   Large and dark-furred, Noctura's coat is a deep shade of black, adorned with silver markings and creamy embellishments. He bears various scars with pride, and his build is sculpted with elegance and power, tall and leanly muscular, a visage of strength and grace. He sees life through piercing yellow eyes, glowing with an intensity that unsettles and captivates.

BEHIND THE MASK   Theatrical, deliberate, and macabre; Noctura is the embodiment of beautiful chaos. The man dances the thin line between elegance and insanity, a personality crafted by a tragic past and unresolved trauma. He has a flair for the dramatic, and speaks as though he is reading lines from an unseen script, with dulcet declarations and poetic monologues. He is fixated on perfection, not only in himself but also in others; each action is undertaken with the intention of achieving complete excellence. Noctura never shies away from violence; in fact, he enjoys it and finds beauty in the art of combat, particularly when blood is spilled.

ACT 1 - BEHIND THE CURTAIN

  THE BEGINNING
Lilah bore her first litter on a storm-wracked night, abandoned by the mate who had once promised her the moon. Bitter and resentful, she turned her fury on her pups instead of the one who betrayed her. Cold and unfeeling, she denied them both food and affection until, after six months, she snapped - slaughtering them in a fit of rage. Only one pup escaped: Noctura.
Bloodied and starving, he fled into the world, hunting rats and scavenging human scraps, haunted by his mother’s cruelty. By ten months old, fate drew him to a travelling circus. Its dazzling lights, music, and colours bewitched him. The caged animals became his first teachers - not in words, but in movement, presence, and the way they held an audience. To Noctura, their scars were proof of greatness, their suffering the price of perfection. Abuse was not torment, but a gift. His obsession with the circus was an escape from the pain of his past, yet it quietly shaped him into something darker.
Eventually, his boldness betrayed him. The humans noticed the shadow that lingered, and instead of chasing him off, they lured him close with kindness - then captured him. When he woke, he was caged. No longer an observer, Noctura had become part of the spectacle.
After months in the circus, it was clear the humans had no intention of teaching him tricks. Wolves were too wild; instead, he was displayed as a feral spectacle for gawking crowds. Trainers struck him, prodded him, and starved him, but where others saw cruelty, Noctura saw theatre. Every lash and jeer became a cue, each bruise another push toward perfection. The cage was his stage; his snarls, lunges, and ferocity became choreography. Performance and suffering blurred until he could no longer tell the difference - if cruelty forged greatness, he would embrace it… and wield it.
  THE MIDDLE
For years, Noctura remained on display, enduring abuse with relish. The pain honed him, shaping him into something truly terrifying. He learned drama from parrots repeating lines, speaking in animated monologues, and weaving theatrical language into every conversation. The elephants taught him how to command space and presence with their slow, deliberate, almost regal movements. Intimidation and poise were learned from the big cats, while he learned of fluidity and rhythm from the horses.
Despite learning all these things, Noctura couldn't change the fact that he was a wild animal. There was never a world where he would be able to take commands from humans, and they knew this, even after spending so much time trying to whip him into shape.
After several years spent in captivity, the humans released Noctura, returning him to the wild. The man, now mentally broken after years of enduring relentless abuse from the confines of his cage, was finally free. The place that had once served as his saving grace was now behind him, and instead of viewing this as an exile, Noctura saw it as a gift. The circus was just rehearsal - the world will now be his stage.
  THE PRESENT
Noctura now rules over The Scarlet Troupe, a group of misfits that serve Noctura as their Master, some by choice, others by force. He is a creature shaped by cruelty and abuse, he is truly mad. He still has an affinity for theatre, but it's his version of theatre - abuse, pain, suffering, all in the pursuit of perfection.
Trauma and spectacle have fused within him, he treats pain, fear, and chaos as tools, shaping each encounter into a delicious performance. He delights in the artistry of manipulation and the power of an audience. Behind the yellow eyes and dramatic gestures lies a mind broken by loss, abandonment, and obsession with perfection.

  CURRENT MUSE(S)   MERULA | NIAMH
An especially interesting individual that has caught Noctura's eye. He is obsessed with them and their potential, striving to make them perfect by pushing them in the "right direction", whether they like it or not. Muses come and go, only Noctura decides when they've served their purpose, what happens after is entirely up to him.
  THE INFORMANT   0/1
A creature who clings to Noctura’s shadow, offering him information. They fear him, yet survival binds them to his side. To outsiders, they might look like an ally. In truth, they are a trembling informant, desperate to remain useful before the curtain falls on them too.
  THE AUDIENCE   0/1
A creature enamoured with Noctura’s presence. They idolize him, defend him, perhaps even adore him. To them, he is brilliance incarnate. To Noctura, they are useful, pathetic, amusing… yet he cannot resist basking in their unwavering gaze. After all, what is a performer without their audience?
  THE CRITIC   0/1
One who sees through the performance. They don’t play along with his theatrics - instead, they dissect him with sharp insight, stripping away the illusion piece by piece. It unsettles him, enrages him. Every performer needs a critic... and every critic risks being silenced.
  THE PUPPET   0/1
Willing or weak-willed, they let Noctura pull their strings. He shapes their words, their movements, their very purpose, testing how far they’ll go under his direction. They believe they’ve found a master, a mentor, perhaps even a savior - but Noctura only sees a marionette dancing on borrowed threads.
